Skype! The name has been in our lives for the past 15 years and let’s say innovation in Skype was the last thing Microsoft had in mind all these time. Compared to other latest software including Zoom, Google Hangouts and more, Skype was a little bit far behind in creativity and options. And we can say that no more, because here comes Skype for Content Creators.

Skype for Content Creators…Sounds cool, but what does it do? For starters, it has enabled recording videos, podcasts and live streaming calls without having to reach for any kind of high-end equipment and needless to say that’s an early Christmas gift for all vloggers and streamers. All these years, although Skype did not have the functionality to record anything, it still supported the use of 3rd party software—CallTrunk, iRecorder, Pamela etc. The same applies to Skype for Content Creators with a slight twist. All Windows and Mac users will be able to select the Content Creators mode to record calls via NewTek NDI® enabled software including Wirecast, Xsplit, and Vmix.

  • Switch your desktop Skype client to Content Creators Mode.
  • Pick your 3rd party software, which Skype supports.
  • And make your calls and that’s it! You’re a Skype genius!

Further, Skype intends contemplates live streaming calls on YouTube channel or Twitch stream. The bonus feature of the whole deal is any recorded content can be imported to Editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, etc. That means you can now say bye to all other recording and screen capturing solutions.

Imagine reporters having calls with international sources, and business meetings that don’t call for our notepads. That is the current reality, folks! The full release of Skype for Content creators will roll out in few months. So let’s just sit tight and wait for the miracle to knock you down!
