With the initiation of “Project Centennial” Microsoft has now converted some of their legacy Win32 software into Windows Store Apps. Software such as WordPad, XPS Viewer, Windows Fax and Scan and Microsoft Character Map can be found on the Windows Store.
Although they are available in the Windows Store; they are only compatible with the Windows 10 systems who have “Windows 10 Anniversary Update”
Microsoft has already released a Preview of “Project Centennial” to the developers as well. Using this preview anyone can convert Win32 desktop software into Windows Store Apps easily.

Following links can be used to download the converted Apps. But keep in mind you have to have the “Windows 10 Anniversary Update.”

  • wordPad
  • XPS Viewer
  • Windows Fax and Scan
